Note on driver compatibility
Windows Vista and Windows 7 automatically downloads the correct driver when the device is first plugged in.
If it does not automatically download, either the user doesn't have internet access when it's trying to search online for the driver in the database, or the user may have blocked automatic driver downloads in the security settings of Windows (or a third party firewall).
If this occurs, you can manually download the driver for Windows 7, version 2.08.02 here: http://www.ftdichip.com/Drivers/CDM/CDM20802_Setup.exe
Run the installer and then plug the device in and it should be ready.
In addition, if you are using a different OS, you can download other optional drivers here:
Any version of windows all the way back to Windows 2000 should use driver version 2.08.02 http://www.ftdichip.com/Drivers/CDM/CDM20802_Setup.exe
98/ME should use 1.09.06 http://www.ftdichip.com/Drivers/VCP/Win98/R10906.zip
Mac OS X should use 2.2.14 http://www.ftdichip.com/Drivers/VCP/MacOSX/FTDIUSBSerialDriver_v2_2_14.dmg
Linux users with kerner 2.4 or below should use 1.5.0 (kernel 2.4.20 and above include the driver in the kernel) |
